An excavated pyramid at Altun Ha (the one people were allowed to climb)
An unexcavated pyramid. We did not climb it. Supposedly it is in very bad shape under the grass and I don’t believe they plan to restore it.

This is the “Ik Palace.” Notice the T-shaped openings. Windows? Who knows? The guide said this was NOT a temple, it was a residence.

Another excavated pyramid. There are 3 pyramids excavated at Altun Ha, plus the mound (see above) and the Ik Palace. Visitors are allowed to climb the mound and one of the pyramids (not pictured here).
These photos were taken in Chankanaab Park on Cozumel Island (off the coast of Cancun). They are 100% scaled reproductions of various statues found all over Mesoamerica.

Chac Mool (or Mol), the Mayan Rain god. The Aztecs called him Tlaloc.
Coatlicue, the Earth Goddess, with me and Will.

The Aztec Moon Stone: The goddess Coyolxauhqui ("Adorned with Bells") after being dismembered and thrown into the sky to become the Moon.

Me and the Aztec Sun Stone (Calendar stone). I'm big. It's BIGGER. :)
My hopes were that this picture would be good enough to use on a book jacket. Oh well. I wasn’t sun-burnt, btw, I was overheating.
